March in Saint-Aygulf is that precious time when nature slowly regains the upper hand. The days are getting longer, the sun is shining again with its Mediterranean warmth, and the Var coast is awakening in a golden, soft, almost still light. We are far removed from the summer hustle and bustle – and that is exactly what makes this month so special.
It is the season of first promises: the paths of the Estérel are covered with wild flowers, the cistus roses and heather bloom in all colours, and at the beginning of the month, the air still smells of mimosa. It is a sight that few travellers get to see – only those who know that the most beautiful moments of a destination are often experienced out of season.
The calanques all to yourself
March is the ideal month to walk the Sentier des Douaniers, a path along the rugged coastline of Saint-Aygulf. This marked trail reveals a dozen hidden coves – Pont de Bois, Louvans, Corailleurs, Four à Chaux – with crystal-clear waters, deserted pebble beaches and unspoilt Mediterranean vegetation. Amidst the winding pine trees, flowering rockroses and deep blue Mediterranean Sea, every turn offers a breathtaking panorama — and in March, it’s all yours.
The campsite is preparing for your arrival
Camping Saint-Aygulf Plage will not open its doors until 11 April 2026, but behind the scenes, things are very busy. We are using this winter break to prepare some wonderful surprises for you — new features that we will soon reveal in detail on our social media channels. All we can say for now is that 2026 will be a memorable season and that you won’t be disappointed.
The best places are quickly taken
March is the month when organised families finalise their summer holiday plans. Pitches under the pine trees, mobile homes with a view, weeks in August – all of this must be booked now, before the best availability is gone. Our 22-hectare pine forest with direct access to the beach will not remain a secret for long once the season has started.
