The season has now really begun. Since 11 April, Camping Saint-Aygulf Plage has reopened its doors and the 22-hectare pine forest is once again buzzing with activity. May is the month when everything really gets going: the days are getting longer, the sea is getting warmer and summer is making its presence felt with well-deserved impatience.
It is also the ideal time to enjoy the campsite in a still peaceful atmosphere, before the hustle and bustle of July and August — the mornings are mild, the beaches are quiet, and every sunset over the Gulf of Saint-Raphaël takes on a special golden hue.
The pine forest is coming back to life
With its 1,100 pitches and direct access to the fine sandy beach, the campsite is in full swing from May onwards. The outdoor swimming pool opens its doors, just in time to enjoy the spring sunshine. With water slides, water games and a paddling pool for the little ones, the campsite’s large water park already promises wonderful moments for the whole family.
It’s the perfect time to sit beneath the pine trees, listen to the sound of the cicadas slowly filling the air, and let yourself be carried away by the Mediterranean rhythm.
Things to do around the campsite
May is a busy month in the region:
- Fréjus Triathlon by Ekoï – 9 and 10 May: just a few minutes from the campsite, Fréjus hosts one of the biggest sporting events of the spring, set against a backdrop of the sea and the Estérel Mountains — perfect for spectators and participants alike
- Cannes Film Festival – 13 to 24 May: 40 minutes from Saint-Aygulf, the world’s most famous film festival takes place on the Croisette, with twelve days of glamour and culture — a day trip not to be missed
- Saint-Aygulf Market: the village is within walking distance of the campsite, with its local market perfect for discovering fresh produce and Provençal flavours
- Estérel hiking trails: May is the best month for hiking in the massif — the vegetation is lush and green, the temperatures are pleasant and the views over the gorges are breathtaking
July is fast approaching
We cannot stress this enough: the best spots are snapped up quickly. The shaded pitches under the pine trees, the mobile homes with direct access to the beach, and the first weeks of July must be booked well in advance. In May, you can still take your time choosing your accommodation from the family mobile homes, the comfortable lodgings, or the traditional pitches under the starry sky.
